Seth Godin on Direct Marketing vs. Mass Market thinking

It is quite common for small business owners to think like mass marketers. It is an easy trap to fall into… Easy because a lot of the marketing we are exposed to is the mass marketing type by big box retailers and national brands.

I think all businesses – regardless of size – must test & tune their marketing before scaling. Think like a Direct Marketer.

Good marketing is not about bells & whistles, awesome graphics, cute headlines or personal aspirations of grandeur… Good marketing is about Sales.
